Being an accomplished paralegal requires dedication, ability, and willingness to be an integral part of the client’s trusted legal team. To Tod Brewer, it also requires creative problem-solving and a strong desire to help make a positive difference in people’s lives and in their children’s futures. For Tod, it means all things family law, the practice area he is most passionate about.
When Tod joined SLG in 2017, he already had substantial divorce and family law experience. He takes pride in being the attorney’s right hand, assisting in preparing the client for family court proceedings. Tod’s compassion for what spouses, parents, and children are going through is genuine. He has been helping with child custody proceedings for about 17 years.
A native, Tod grew up in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona and graduated from Show Low High School (1994) – Go Cougars! He obtained his Paralegal Certificate from Northland Pioneer College in Show Low.
In 2000, Tod started working for the Navajo County Attorney’s Office in the Child Support Enforcement Program. In March 2010, he moved to the Phoenix area in order to work for the Kyrene Justice Court in Chandler. From there, Tod resumed employment with the State of Arizona by working with the Office of the Attorney General Child Support Division. Tod’s special focus at the AG’s office was child support and determination of arrears, along with administrative remedies available to the State of Arizona regarding child support.
Given Tod’s many talents, we know one thing for certain. He and his family dine-in often and eat really well. There’s no suffering for lack of home-cooked meals in that household. Tod loves cooking and has developed into quite the amateur chef. When taking a break from preparing his own recipes, he’s likely to be out on a mission to sample exotic cuisine at some restaurant he’s recently heard about. The more unusual the food and stranger the ingredients, the better. Tod is a full-fledged foodie!
That’s a good thing, because he likes getting out under the desert sky. An avid disk golfer, he also enjoys wilderness hiking, hunting, and camping. Whatever the activity, if he’s sharing time with family, then he’s one happy man. Recreation includes the cinema, too, because Tod’s a movie buff. His preferred genre isn’t for everyone, though. He’s a fan of horror movies (whether good or bad). Mystery Science Theater 3000 anyone?
