Casandra Ruth

Receptionist & Legal Assistant

Receptionist and legal assistant Cassandra Ruth is the first person to greet and assist our clients, associates, and visitors. You’ll recognize her immediately, she’s the one with kind eyes, quick smile, and bubbly personality.

Charismatic and a self-described workaholic, Casandra was born and raised in Phoenix. An Arizona original, when she graduated from Glendale Community College with an Associate Degree she made her family proud as a first generation college student. That was just the beginning. Casandra earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from ASU’s School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She knows her stuff, but isn’t finished working on her education yet. Casandra’s next goal is to attend the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.

Casandra is always toting a good book and, not surprisingly, has found a way to share her love of learning with many under-privileged children in our community by reading to them! She volunteers for the Read to Me program whenever her busy schedule allows. “My reward,” says Casandra, “is knowing these kids are developing the reading skills they need. These are building blocks to a lifetime of learning.” The benefits of reading to a child are well-established and include broadened understanding, improved self-esteem, and increased comprehension. Casandra also volunteers at Andre House, a non-profit ministry dedicated to feeding the homeless and poor of all ages.

Keeping up with Casandra may require running shoes. “I’ve run five half marathons, three full marathons, and more 5Ks than I can count.” She manages to squeeze in some hiking and kayaking, too. Casandra jokes about being clumsy, but on the trail she’s as agile as a mountain goat. If not running a race, then she’s probably getting ready for the next one and cross-training at the gym.

Traveling at home (10 states and counting) and abroad is exhilarating for Casandra. Always on the lookout for new places to hike and explore, she starts planning the next trip before her plane even lands at Sky Harbor. Her recent trip to Korea pushed authentic Korean cuisine and sushi to the top her favorite foods list. Here at home? Phoenix is her go-to venue for live concerts.

Quiet time at home is spent reading or fearlessly watching Handmaids Tale, American Horror Story, thriller movies, or just about any reality TV show. Don’t worry, she has three cats to protect her.
