Amina Geno | Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant Amina Geno is the youngest of eight and the only child in her family to finish college here. Amina has a BS from UA in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration with a pre-law Thematic Minor. A dedicated student, she made the Dean’s List both junior and senior years. Turns out, Amina had another personal goal to accomplish at the UA – her Master’s degree in Legal Studies (MLS).

While at UA, Amina was a member of the African Student Association. The club’s mission is to promote unity and understanding among African students at the university. On many levels, Amina established herself as a communicator.

When she served as Congolese community translator, Amina worked in multiple languages. Along with English, she translated French, Swahili, and Lingala (a Bantu language spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo).

When we combine Amina’s attention to detail, ability to organize complex materials, creative problem-solving and critical thinking, we have a top-notch legal assistant on our team.

More than anything, our clients appreciate Amina’s compassion and kindness. People feel at ease with her. They know her desire to help them is sincere. She will do everything she can to provide the best customer service possible.

The language of music is another skill Amina has developed. A musician, she plays flute and guitar. If she’s not playing music, then she’s listening to it!

Amina stays fit, rotating through softball, volleyball, and working out at her gym. Burning all those calories makes dining out all the more enjoyable. She loves trying new recipes and cuisines, especially when she can share the experience with her fiancé and friends.

To help others in the community who are less fortunate, Amina volunteers with André House, St. Vincent de Paul’s Family Dining Room, and St. Mary’s Food Bank. Amina volunteers with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), too. In 202o, she spent five months with MADD as a full time UA student intern.

Relaxing at home, Amina listens to her favorite podcast (True Crime) or watches some television. Her top-four TV shows are Ozark, Queen of the South, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Blacklist.
