Personal Life

Meridith had a 15-year career in education before becoming an attorney. Meridith began teaching middle school for a few years, then moved toward the regulatory side of education holding positions such as educational consultant with Main Street Academix, special education service specialist with Spurwink Services, and regulatory trainer regarding special education transition services in Maine.

However, at age 39, Meridith left her successful career in education and headed to law school to fulfill her dream opening her own law firm. Meridith opened her firm, Maine Family Legal in 2017 which she owned and operated until 2022. When her husband was offered a great job in Arizona, they decided together to leave Maine’s winters for endless Phoenix summers.

Always approachable and willing to lend a helping hand, Meridith is a mentor and supporter of personal growth for all.  She also appreciates humor and is a good sport. Meridith was chosen from the audience at a Blue Man Group show to participate. “They put me in this weird costume that threw globs of who-knows-what on the audience whenever I answered a Blue Man’s ‘silent’ questions incorrectly,” she laughs. “I wasn’t very popular that day. A lot of my answers were wrong!”

“My husband and I love being on the water,” says Meridith. “We take our boat out multiple times a month to unplug.” Their dogs – Outlaw and Rebel – join them in exploring new places. Her oldest canine is a retired therapy dog. They frequently visited hospitals and rehabilitation centers. “He took his work very seriously. Sitting with people who were immobile, comforting them.”

Meridith enjoys golfing, cooking, and gathering to play board games and card games with friends and family. Skipbo anyone?

At the casino? “It’s Blackjack. I got kicked out of a Jamaican casino once for winning too much money at the table!”

A reality TV fan, Meridith’s favorites are “90 Day Fiancé,” “Love after Lockup,” “Married at First Sight,” “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” She also love scary podcasts (not true-crime) but Monsters Among Us, Tales to Terrify and the like. Her favorite travel destination is the Amalfi Coast and Italian is her favorite cuisine. But she’ll take that with ice cream.
