Legal assistant, Kaitlyn Carboun, is a charmer. Her smile and positive energy are a winning combination for clients, associates, and coworkers alike. Kaitlyn’s interest in divorce, family law, estate planning, and probate law is genuine. She has a plan for law school someday.
Kaitlyn graduated from Mesa’s Red Mountain High School before heading to The Ohio State University. She holds a BA in Political Science, Pre-Law (2019) and a BS in International Studies (2020) with a minor in Global Public Health. She was a Cleary Act Intern (2018) and legislative intern with the Ohio House of Representatives (2019).
Why Ohio State? Kaitlyn was recruited as a member of the Division 1 Synchronized Swimming Team and became team captain. “We won three national championships – 2017, 2018, 2019 – during my time on the team!”
While at Ohio State, Kaitlyn received the Bucks Go International scholarship (2019) and spent time in Malawi, Africa. A Scholar-Athlete on the Dean’s List, she received the Preston V. McMurray Scholar-Athlete Citizenship Award (2020), Big Ten Sportsmanship Award (2020), was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, and Academic All-Big Ten. Whew! That’s a lot to pack into four years!
Never a fish out of water, Kaitlyn stays involved in her favorite sport. She assists in coaching synchronized swimming to younger athletes within the club team she swam for before college – the Arizona Desert Dolphins. On dry land, Kaitlyn enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and other community organizations.
Kaitlyn’s most-watched movies are Rocky and Forrest Gump. Ever the athlete, she swims daily at club team MAC (Mesa, Aquatics Club) and hikes with her Aussiedoodle “Rocky.” While she loves snacking on sliced mango, her favorite restaurants are Tia Rosa’s and Guido’s Italian Deli.
