Family law attorney Natalie L. Mathews had been in practice for 17 years when she joined Stewart Law Group as partner in 2021. She’s high energy but reserved and a keen observer.
Natalie brings zealous advocacy and compassion to every client’s legal matter, whether the case is straightforward or complex. Always eager to collaborate, she loves brainstorming with colleagues – exchanging ideas and sharing professional experiences – in a concerted effort to help clients by implementing winning legal strategies and litigation tactics. A proponent of settlement whenever it’s possible, Natalie’s creative legal mind is always working on outside-the-box solutions to clients’ problems.
Natalie is definitely a team player, and not just at the office. This Phoenix native is a lifelong competitive swimmer and a serious runner, competing in ultra-marathons and trail races. She has tested her mettle in the Ultra-marathon (Antelope Canyon), Half Dome (Yosemite), Rim2Rim (Grand Canyon), Imogene Pass (Ouray and Telluride), and national Ragnar relay races, among others.
With four children under the age of 14 (including a set of twins), one rescue dog and two cats, instead of slowing down she simply picked up the pace.
Natalie earned her BSBA in Business Management with a minor in Spanish from the UA (2001). Talented and capable, she was one of 13 senior leaders on campus who were made members of the Bobcat Senior Honorary (2000-2001). All were selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, leadership, university and community involvement, and a sincere commitment to the UA.
Natalie also wore the golden arrow as a Pi Beta Phi sorority sister and served as Vice President of Scholastics. She exemplifies Pi Beta Phi’s mission of timeless values, friendship, leadership, and community service. (As a volunteer in the Phoenix area, Natalie has worked with the Madison Traditional Academy and UMOM emergency shelter services.)
In 2001, Natalie headed to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University Law School. Obtaining her JD in 2004, she was licensed to practice law in Arizona the same year and has been blazing a trail ever since.
Following all things Arizona Wildcats makes sense, it’s Natalie’s alma mater after all. But she’s also a big UFC fan (as in Ultimate Fighting Championship). Musically, she’s a little outside-the-box, too. Banging on drums is right-up this “Green Day” groupie’s punk-rock alley.
Natalie is always ready for a live concert, sporting event, or destination vacation (a world traveler, she likes Thai food “extra-spicy”). A favorite destination for the Mathews family is Jerome, the historic mile-high town with spectacular views of the Verde Valley, Mogollon Rim, and San Francisco Peaks. Her all-time number-one joy? “Spending time with my kids!”
