Max Hanson
Attorney
With almost three decades of legal experience, Max brings a sharp mind, straightforward approach, and unwavering dedication to his clients. A proud graduate of Arizona State University, Max earned his bachelor’s degree in History before going on to obtain his law degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 1997. During law school, he served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Arizona State Law Journal and directed the Homeless Legal Assistance Project (HLAP), an experience that not only shaped his commitment to advocacy but also provided some truly unforgettable client interactions—like the time he discovered a prospective client wrapped herself head to toe in aluminum foil to avoid alien and government detection. Lesson learned: always expect the unexpected.
Max’s legal style is smart, honest, and effective. He doesn’t waste time with unnecessary fluff—he gets straight to the point and fights zealously for his clients. His approach has earned him countless handwritten thank-you notes over the years, a testament to the real impact he’s made in people’s lives.
Outside the office, Max is a devoted family man, having been married for nearly 32 years (an ironic feat for a divorce attorney). He’s spent years supporting his kids’ activities, from Boy Scouts—where his son achieved Eagle Scout—to cheering on his daughter’s swim team. A lover of sports, he passionately follows Arsenal F.C., the Boston Red Sox, and Arizona’s local teams. When he’s not working or catching a game, he enjoys hiking, swimming, and testing out new recipes on his unsuspecting family.
In the office, Max has a reputation as the “big, intimidating bear”—at least until people realize he’s just a teddy bear with an encyclopedic knowledge of trivia. Whether he’s representing clients in the courtroom, cooking up something new in the kitchen, or debating the finer points of Game of Thrones and Stranger Things, Max approaches everything he does with intelligence, integrity, and a healthy dose of humor.
