Marissa brings empathy, sharp legal instincts, and a genuine passion for her clients to her role as a Family Law Attorney with Arizona Law Group. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Northern Iowa and her Juris Doctorate from Drake University, where she landed on the Dean’s List and received both a Dean’s Law Scholarship and the Iowa Chapter ABOTA Promising 3L Litigator Scholarship for her work with the Drake Legal Clinic. Her mom has every right to brag.

At Drake Law School, Marissa didn’t just study the law, she practiced it. She competed on the ABA Law Student Division Negotiations Team and gained real-world experience through the Drake Legal Clinic’s General Civil Practice Clinic and Advanced General Civil Practice Clinic. She also spent a semester studying abroad through the American College of Greece in Athens, deepening her background in Psychology while living in the suburbs of one of the world’s oldest cities. It’s the kind of experience that comes up at every dinner party and never gets old.

What sets Marissa apart in family law is her psychology background, particularly her coursework in child development and child psychology. In divorces involving children and custody matters, that foundation gives her a deeper understanding of what’s really at stake and allows her to advocate effectively for outcomes that serve the best interests of the children involved.

Outside of work, Marissa keeps busy. She travels whenever she can, hits the tennis court, goes hiking, reads, and even does partnered dancing. She’s also an anime fan, which she’ll happily talk about alongside her love of Harry Potter, Criminal Minds, and her loyalty to the 49ers, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks. Yes, all four. She’s committed.

Around the office, Marissa is known for being talkative, empathetic, and supportive, the kind of colleague and attorney who makes clients feel heard from the very first conversation.
